Eurogamer: Star Trek Online Review

Star Trek Online is in a field of one in terms of its theme, its only real rival being the intimidatingly complex and political EVE Online, right at the other end of the accessibility scale. It’s a unique offering then, in many ways a loveable one, and for Star Trek fans if not MMO gamers it’s a great social experience. It makes its licence a blessing, not a burden, but it’s a blessing this rickety voyage into the unknown badly needs.

Half-Life 2 mod Occupation: Source Update Released

Realistic Ballistic Software has released a new update for its Half-Life 2 full modification Occupation: Source, now available for download. The mod promises a level of bullet and damage realism never seen before in a FPS video game.

Age of Conan Releases 1. 06 Patch Notes

The patch went live today, and the full patch notes were presented with links to full explanations of each major new feature, as well as the Thoth-Amon’s Stronghold, the new Tier Three raid instance. The much-discussed Guild Renown system was added with this patch, as was the Assassin revamp, raid loot token system, and changes to the crowd control system.

Quite a few smaller changes and bug fixes were added, and most classes received a few changes. The Age of Conan team took a look at PvP as well, making a few minor changes to mechanics, particularly in minigames.

Star Ocean 4 Producer Takes Stealth Jab at Xbox 360

Andriasang: Star Ocean 4 Last Hope International saw release yesterday, at last allowing PlayStation 3 owners to experience the RPG epic that Xbox 360 owners got to play nearly a year ago.

Dengeki covered the game’s release with an interview with producer Yoshinori Yamagishi. What’s unique about this interview is that the site’s readers were the ones asking the questions.

Capcom explains why Monster Hunter Online for 360

Videogamer writes: "Capcom has revealed that the Xbox 360’s online capabilities are the reason it chose to create a version of MMO, Monster Hunter Frontier Online, for the Microsoft console.

Asked about the game during a Q3 Q&A conference call, Capcom said: ‘We decided to offer this title for the Xbox 360 because of this console’s outstanding online game playing capabilities and for other reasons. ‘"
