Reese Witherspoon may have endured a SHOCKING arrest with hubby Jim Toth early Friday morning — one that planted them IN JAIL for disorderly conduct and suspicion of a DUI — but she made sure to take her sweet, Southern ass all the way up to NYC for work on Sunday! It was absolute MEDIA MAYHEM at Moma!! Reese hit the Mud red carpet premiere with determination (and without prison clothes), strutting along side co-star Matthew McConaughey in all black as she greeted the photographers but answered no questions. The indie film is due in theaters April 26, but Reese and Jim are due in Atlanta Municipal Court at 8am Monday morning. Riding on its highly anticipated status, “Oblivion” soared to the top spot in this weekend’s box office for the weekend of April 19-21, 2013. The Tom Cruise-fronted action adventure grabbed an impressive $38. 2 million for its freshman weekend in theaters. Sliding into second was last week’s number one, the Jackie Robinson bio-pic “42,” garnering $18 million for it’s sophomore run. Rounding out the top five was the animated adventure film “The Croods” ($9. 5 million) in third, the comedy horror flick “Scary Movie 5” ($6. 3 million) in fourth, and the Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum film “G. I. Joe: Retaliation” ($5. 8 million) in fifth.

We can’t begin to express to you how much we adore Amy Poehler, so it breaks our heart to see her so visibly upset like this!But the normally very jovial Parks & Recreation comedienne is a both a Boston area native and graduated from Boston College, so it should come as no surprise that the heartwrenching drama surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing and the subsequent, incredibly violent 24 manhunt for the suspects would have a deeply profound affect on her. Sadly, this is very clear in the latest “Ask Amy” video she posted on her “Smart Girls” YouTube channel this week. Ch-ch-check out her very somber, yet thought-provoking discussion about the recent events, as well as the effects of being inundated with the violent, disturbing and deeply upsetting imagery, like what we’ve recently seen from the media (above). We really have to commend her for taking her heartbreak over such a devastating and tragic event, and utilizing that pain to raise some very relevant questions about issues we think it’s very much time for our society to address. Stay strong, Amy! You’re in our thoughts!
