Having already conquered the terrestrial charts, Will. i. am has set his sights on the rest of the solar system. Today (August 28), the Black Eyed Peas frontman’s new single “Reach for the Stars” was broadcast live from the Mars Curiosity rover. The power producer tweeted, “Go to http://NASA. gov/ntv now. . . it’s 1pm and we are live. . . history in the making. . . inspiring the youth towards #stem #steAm. “Proceeds from the iTunes sales of the song will go towards bringing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) schools to the inner cities. The debut is part of an educational event at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in which the digital music file will travel 330 million miles to be played to an audience of engineers and students. Will. i. am joined other celebrities to show support for the space program when Curiosity touched down on August 5th. He viewed the landing at the Lab alongside Morgan Freeman, director Barry Sonnenfeld, and Seth Green.
