Las Alamandas Announces Winter Art Exhibitions
COSTALEGRE, Mexico, /PRNewswire/ — Las Alamandas, together with Galeria Corsica, is proud to present the paintings of David Gutierrez in a delightful exhibition entitled “The Colors of Mexico,” exclusively at the Las Alamandas Gallery now through April.
Also now through April 2010, Las Alamandas Gallery is pleased to present the works of acclaimed Mexican potter Angel Ortiz Gabriel. David Gutierrez studied Visual Arts at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He was selected to be a part of the High Academic Qualifications at the San Carlos Academy sponsored by UNAM Foundation and Telmex Foundation. Over the past ten years, Gutierrez has participated in several workshops around the country and has had 7 successful solo shows and more than 20 group showings.
Hailed from Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico, Angel Ortiz Gabriel has been working with clay since he was 11 years old, and has mastered the art of Barro Brunido (burnished pottery) & Traditional Pottery. Gabriel studied with the famed Jorge Wilmot, an internationally renowned craftsman honored with many distinguished accolades. Gabriel himself has won many prizes over his years in perfecting the craft.
Founded in Puerto Vallarta in 2002 by Jean Pierre Renucci and Jose Villavicencio, Galeria Corsica presents some of Mexico’s top talent in the art community. In 2006, after becoming the most important art gallery in Puerto Vallarta, Galeria Corsica opened a branch in Los Cabos, where it has quickly become the most important art gallery in that region as well.
