Construction of the 13bn-peso (US$976mn) Túnel Emisor Oriente drainage tunnel in Mexico City will help alleviate the sinkhole problems that have affected the capital for over 100 years, researcher with autonomous university UNAM’s geological sciences center, Marcos Ortega, told BNamericas.
