WASHINGTON (AP) ? U. S. defense officials say Gen. John Allen, the top U. S. commander in Afghanistan, has been cleared of allegations of sending potentially inappropriate emails to a civilian woman linked to the sex scandal that ousted David Petraeus as CIA director.
