?Les Miserables? Drops First Look Featurette
We?re still a few months off from its December 25th street date, and Universal Pictures has just released a First Look video for ?Les Miserables. ?The Tom Hooper-directed flick was adapted from the Victor Hugo novel that later became a massive hit on Broadway. And with a cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, and Helena Bonham Carter, ?Les Mis? certainly sounds like a must-see movie for this holiday season. Per the synopsis, ?Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption?a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine?s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever. ?
