++ Authorities in Ciudad Juárez arrested Ricardo Valles de la Rosa, a suspect in the killings of three persons linked to the U. S. Consulate. Valles de la Rosa is the head of the Los Aztecas band, made up of hired hit men for the drug cartel run by Vicente Carrillo Fuentes… Valles de la Rosa apparently confessed he took part in the shootings. ++ Interior Secretary Fernando Gómez Mont condemned the deaths of 10 youths in Durango over the weekend… He said the federal government would not permit these crimes to continue and added that the government would hold its ground unflinchingly in the battle against crime. ++ People seeking justice placed two large banners on pedestrian bridges near the Tec de Monterrey campus in Monterrey, Nuevo León, demanding that military and state authorities present the videos of the shootout in which two students were killed, allegedly caught in the crossfire of a gun battle with criminals. ++ Interior Secretary Fernando Gómez Mont said the videotapes of the shootout were handed to the Attorney General’s Office that is currently analyzing the images… He said that once the material has been revised all pertinent information would be made public. ++ Nine out of 10 weapons seized in Mexico come from the United States although arms sales are restricted in Mexico, 15,000 people have been the victims of gunfire violence in the last four years… In the United States arms dealing is legal. ++ Authorities said that just over 47 million cellular phone users have signed up with the National Mobile Telephony Registry, or about 57 percent of all such phones in Mexico… The deadline is April 10.
