Tropical Storm Karen strengthens; new depression in Gulf of Mexico (Orlando Sentinel)
After looking rather anemic, Tropical Storm Karen strengthened early today in the open Atlantic Ocean, while a tropical depression swirled in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico.
