Southern Copper and Grupo Mexico on strike (Mining Journal)
Workers at Southern Copper Corp, the world`s fifth-largest producer of the metal, began a strike at three of the company`s Mexican mines to demand wage increases, a union official said on Monday. Workers also walked off the job at Grupo Mexico`s Cananea copper mine at 1900 GMT Monday.
